ballet
All our ballet classes are based on the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus which is designed to encourage and develop a child's natural sense of movement, musicality and imagination.
For those pupils who wish to take examinations it is expected that they have studied the syllabus for at least a year, have good attendance and are committed to home practice.

Children are generally placed with their age group, starting with Pre-Primary at school reception class age. The Royal Academy of Dance has age guidelines for grades (required for examinations) which have been designed to work with the natural development of the child. New pupils will be advised of the correct Grade for their age and experience.
Tap Dance
For anybody who has rhythm, or wants to find it!
Classes are based on the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) syllabi which have been designed to work with the natural development of the child. Children are generally placed with their age group, starting with Primary at the age of 5 years. The Imperial Society has age guidelines for grades (required for examinations) which have been designed to work with the natural development of the child. Examinations at all grades are optional and any pupils who do wish to take examinations it is expected that they have studied the syllabus for at least a year, have good attendance and are committed to home practice.
Modern Theatre
The foundation of pop style dance, using different styles such as lyrical, and jazz. This is a structured class following the ISTD syllabi. Children are generally placed with their age group, starting with Primary at the age of 5 years. The Imperial Society has age guidelines for grades (required for examinations) which have been designed to work with the natural development of the child. New pupils will be advised of the correct grade for their age and experience. Examinations at all grades are optional and any pupils who do wish to take examinations it is expected that they have studied the syllabus for at least a year, have good attendance and are committed to home practice. After completing Grade 3 Modern, students are offered the opportunity to experience Jazz classes, beginning with the Bronze Jazz Award from the ISTD.
Little Footsteps
Ideal for children of 2 - 3 years. Give your little one a head start with our Little Footsteps classes. Designed to encourage the use of imagination and develop musicality through ballet movement
and individual story lines.

With story lines developed entirely by us, Little Footsteps is a great way to introduce your little one to dance and also to a classroom environment, helping to develop both their social, listening and
cognitive skills.
Dance technique
A technique focused class for students of secondary school age. Classes include warm ups, limbering, elevation work, combination exercises, core control, leaps, kicks & turns. The class draws on techniques from lyrical, contemporary and jazz styles. This is a 'free work' based classes designed to compliment the work studied in Ballet & Modern Theatre. Students are exposed to regular new routines to help encourage the ability to learn and retain choreography whilst also working on a sense of performance.
Musical Theatre
If singing is your thing why not join our Musical Theatre classes. In each class students learn about; vocal warm ups, scales breathing techniques, correct and develop vocal technique, and gain a strong foundation of vocal exercises.

In addition to our regular classes we also provide private tuition and graded group classes in Musical Theatre for students who want to take part in their LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) examinations. Examinations at all grades are optional and any pupils who do wish to take examinations, it is expected that they have studied the requirements for at least a year, have good attendance and are committed to home practice.
Street Dance
Pop, lock, twist, turn and release some energy to your favourite music!

Our Street dance classes are for children 4 years + and focus on street styles such as "commercial", "hip-hop", "Locking" and "House". Their own personal style and ideas are encouraged. Great exercise and brilliant for building confidence and self-esteem! All abilities welcome!
Performance Opportunities
Each year we are very lucky to be invited to perform at numerous events through the calendar year and where possible we try to include as many students into each performance!

Examples of opportunities include performances at local care homes, VE Day celebrations, Summer Fairs, Carol Concerts, Christmas Markets, Richmond 950 Celebrations, charity concerts, BBC's Countryfile Live Event and much more!
​
On top of this all students are invited to participate in our biannual dance production held at the Forum in Northallerton. This is a big event for our schools and it provides students with invaluable on-stage, back-stage and performance experience! Our next productions is scheduled for June 2025.
