We took 17 young dancers to perform at Greyfriars Nursing Home at the end of term! Residents we're thrilled and thoroughly enjoyed the 30 minutes of dancing which displayed current work the student's have been studying.
From the Darlington and Stockton:
Residents at Greyfriars retirement complex in Richmond were entertained last week by students from the locally based Charlotte Jacqueline School of Dance. Young dancers ranging from two to sixteen years of age performed various short ballet routines and joined with residents to perform an exercise regularly done in the seated dance class at Greyfriars.
Alongside ballet technique the students also study Character Dances which are based on traditional folk dances from other European Countries and they also performed a number of these.
The session was rounded off with afternoon tea and cakes, where students had chance to speak and relax with residents who reminisced about their own past experiences of dancing.
