We hosted our very first professional workshop in June with Harrison Vaughan!

Students from Charlotte Jacqueline School of Dance, Step by Step Dance School & Janet Seymour's School of Dance with world dance champion Harrison Vaughan (Centre)

From the Darlington & Stockton Times:

The Richmond based Charlotte Jacqueline School of Dance hosted its first annual professional workshop last weekend with students joined by others from Janet Seymour's School of Theatre Dance and Step by Step Dance School.

Harrison Vaughan, a professional West End performer and winner of CBBC's taking the next step, led the workshop which provided an invaluable experience for the young dancers, aged between 12 and 16.

Students were taught technique and routine in both musical theatre and contemporary dance with performance opportunities at the end. They were also given an opportunity to ask questions about the industry and learn more about audition techniques and the day-to-day life of a performer.

Principal Charlotte Porter said: "It was great to have a leading professional at our school here in Richmond. All the dancers worked incredibly hard to prove that we have some fantastic talent here in the area and beyond. A great afternoon was had by all and we cant wait to host another equally inspiring opportunity in 2019."
